Sekaninaite
Sekaninaite is the Iron-rich end member of a solid solution series with Cordierite. Sekaninaite is very rare, and its primary locality is Dolní Bory, Moravia, Czech Republic. It is sometimes considered a variety of Cordierite, but is recognized by the IMA as an individual mineral species with a chemical formula of (Fe3+,Mg)2Al4Si5O18. Sekaninaite is named in honor of the Czech mineralogist Josef Sekanina (1901-1986).
